I wrote this after witnessing a scene that was quite distressing. It describes the plight of a homeless man in a desolate part of a bustling city of great splendor and revelry. It is heart-wrenching and at the same time a shameful sight to see the rising number of homelessness in the iconic cities around the world. Even people who work regular and overtime hours cannot afford to have a place to rest, live and sleep. It's totally ironic and pitiful!
On my way of returning home depressed and musing, this particular song obsessively resonated in my mind. I had heard this tune before many times when my daughter was taking violin lessons in school.
Since I had not yet made it into lyrics for the intended song "Gavotte" by J. B. Lully, I am calling it as poetry. Govotte is a French peasant dance and a popular genre of Europian musicians.
